love one another!

"...to be in a relationship with God is to be loved purely and furiously. And a person who thinks himself unlovable cannot be in a relationship with God because he can't accept who God is; a Being that is love. We learn that we are lovable or unlovable from other people...That is why God tells us so many times to love each other."

The Mystery of History: What on Earth is Easter About?

Just a little Easter thought... mostly to remind myself that Easter isn't about that delicious box of See's chocolates sitting on the desk as I type...

The Mystery of History in 5 Acts...

ACT ONE: IT GOES BACK TO THE BEGINNING!
God created the universe:
-to reveal His glory.
-to express His love.
-to form a family.
"In his goodness God chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his choice possession" James 1:18

ACT TWO: ADAM MESSED IT UP!
-When sin came it brough death into the planet and it broke the world.
-Man lost his purpose!
"The earth has broken down in utter collapse and everything is lost and confused. That's why it's not fair." Isaiah 29:14

ACT THREE: JESUS CAME!
-The cross = the message of hope.
"The law of Moses could not save us, because of our sinful nature. But God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours, except that ours are sinful. God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins." Romans 8:3

ACT FOUR: GOD GIVES US A CHOICE!
-Admit (confession)
-Decide (repentance)
-Trust (obedience)
-Choose (to follow him)
"Today I am giving you a choice between good and evil, and between life and death." Deuteronomy 30:15

ACT FIVE: JESUS IS COMING BACK FOR HIS FAMILY!
-You live on this earth 80 ,90, maybe 100 years. But you live forever with God. Why let this world dictate who you'll follow?
-In Heaven, whatever was broken on earth will be put together again.
"Then God's home will be with his peope. He will live with them, and they will be his own... He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past will be gone forever." Revelation 21:3-4

Today is THE day that, collectively, believers all over the world celebrate the defeat of death. Jesus Christ rose from the grave and set all captives free. All gratitude and worship be to our Savior, the Prince of Peace. Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness. :)
